Inspection requirements for aerial lifts (MEWP)

ANSI standards require frequent and annual safety inspections for aerial lifts, following manufacturer guidelines. Frequent inspections are needed if the lift is used, after three months/150 hours of service, or after three months out-of-service. Qualified mechanics must inspect controls, safety devices, structure, and more. Annual inspections are due within thirteen months of the last one.
